Terry Mark Phelps

Terry Mark Phelps, 72, of Cataula, GA, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 6, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at Cascade Hills Church with Rev. Ben May officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 – 11:00 AM Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the church, 727 54th St, Columbus, GA 31904. Interment will be held at Parkhill Cemetery following the services according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, Georgia 31907.

Terry was born January 8, 1950 in Troy, AL to the late JW Phelps and Mary Fowler Phelps. He was an Air Force Veteran. Terry was a member of Cascade Hills Church and loved to hunt, fish, cook, garden, and spend time with his family and friends. Terry worked at Schuster Enterprises, Inc where he loved being a part of his Burger King family. He retired from Schuster Enterprises, Inc in August of 2020 after 45 years of loyal service.

Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Nancy Johnson Phelps of Cataula, GA, daughters, Terra Schoenberger (Greg) of Cataula, GA, Wendy Washam (Bo) of Midland, GA, Kendall Phelps of Columbus, GA, Amanda Lambertus (Philip) of Columbus, GA, Kindall Ray of Marietta, GA, sister, Sara Phelps Moore (Butch) of Warner Robins, mother-in-law, Margot Johnson of Columbus, GA, sister-in-law, Susan Floyd (James) of Cataula, GA brother- in- law, Klaus Johnson of Columbus, GA, Thomas Johnson (Kim) of Cottonton, AL, Ralph Johnson (Linda) of Ft. Mitchell, AL, nine grandchildren, Peyton, Gage, Reece, Addisyn, MaKenna, Brayden, Brian, LayLa, Daniel, Lily, two great grandchildren, Mila and Miles and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. & Mary Phelps, sister, Kizzie May, brothers, Dean Phelps,Guthrie Phelps, Wayne Phelps, and granddaughter Emily Lambertus.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to any one of Terry’s favorite charities, Wounded Warriors, Camp Joy or Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Terry.
