Ramona Jean Cassidy, 84, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on July 4, 2019 in Columbus.
The family will receive friends on July 7, 2019 from 12-5 PM at 4006 Pamela Street, Columbus, Georgia.
Ramona was born in Maynard, Arkansas to the late Plenie and Elriva Evans on September 18, 1934. She attended Maynard High School, and married Foster Leo Cassidy on December 12, 1950 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She was a loving and devoted mother of two daughters and a son.
She loved to travel with her husband and family and enjoyed over thirty- five cruises, many to the Caribbean. Her favorite destinations were Hawaii and Alaska. She had a compassionate heart for animals and enjoyed reading about historical events, especially American history. She was a patriot and a loyal and devoted military wife who supported her husband and family through two military deployments to South East Asia.
Her younger brother, Mel recalls their childhood days as they were raised on a struggling family farm. He had endearing memories of her as having a sharp mind. She was quiet, caring and strong.
Ramona is preceded in death by her parents, Plenie and Elriva Evans, and her sisters Edwina Joan Adler, Ester Lee Evans and Eva Evans.
Mrs. Cassidy is survived by her husband MSG (RET) Foster Cassidy, son Anthony G. Cassidy of Clinton, LA, daughters Sherry Diane Brock of Atlanta, GA and Sheila Renee Cassidy of Carrollton, GA, Brother, Mel O. Evans of Waco, TX, Grandchildren, Anthony Gordan Cassidy of Phenix City, AL, Chris Thomas Cassidy of Smith Station, AL, Kristina Adrien Cassidy of Zachary, LA, Michelle Danielle Cassidy of St. Augustine, FL, Darrah Danee Brock of Duluth, GA, SGT Bradley Ryan Brock of Alamogordo, NM.
