Matthew Brooks, 27, of Columbus, Georgia died unexpectedly Saturday December 31, 2022, at his residence.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Solid Rock Church on Saturday January 7, 2023, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Jay Bailey officiating according to McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Matthew was born on March 26, 1995, in Columbus, Georgia to Jeff Brooks and Lisa Bryant. He attended Shaw High School prior to becoming a skilled self-employed painter. He was a spirited Alabama Football fan who enjoyed spending his free time in the outdoors. Matthew was a loving and devoted father to his daughter, Gracelyn. He enjoyed the beach, fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his grandmother, Carolyn Gray; Aunt, Donna Boswell; Cousin, Renee Eldridge and his great aunt, Lynn Bennett.
Matthew is survived by his father Jeff Brooks, his mother, Lisa Bryant and his step-father, Jason Bryant; brothers, Ryan Brooks, William Bryant; daughter, Gracelyn Walker; maternal grandfather, Steve Gray and paternal grandmother, Cheryl Newman (Dan Steed); niece, Everett Brooks; nephew, Cohen Brooks; several cousins, aunts and uncles.
