Jeremy Carden Sewell, 32, of Fortson, GA died Saturday, July 11, 2020 in Columbus, GA.
A private Funeral Service will be held for family and close friends Sunday, July 19, 2020 with a public visitation from 2:30-3:30PM at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory will be following the guidelines set forth by the CDC and Governor Brian Kemp to maintain social distancing for those attending the visitation and funeral service. Those attending the visitation on Sunday afternoon will be required to wear a mask.
Jeremy was a protector, a confidante. He was always taking care of the people around him. He deeply cared for his family and friends and would protect them at any cost. He was constantly learning and learned fast. Give him an instrument he'd never seen, the next day he'd be teaching you how to use it. He loved working with his hands and would take something apart just to figure out how to put it back together. He never followed the path of everyone else and made you question your own reality of what is important. He appreciated the little things and never took advantage of the big things. If there was an obstacle, he'd overcome it with ease with a lesson learned and a story to tell. Jeremy was a private man with a lot of depth and more potential than the world could handle. He had a soft heart and hard head. He didn't want or need much and he always made it work. Jeremy would give his last penny to help someone and often did. He loved music, adventures, and animals.
Jeremy is survived by his Mother, Cynthia CardenTomblin (Marvin) Fortson, GA; his Father, Tommy M. Sewell, Columbus, Ga; Sisters, Amber Sewell Camp, Columbus, GA; Shamri A. Sewell, Nashville, TN; Grandmother Doris (Tina) Carden; Aunts, Marcia Foster, Columbus, GA; Karen (KC) Samples (Roy); Brenda Elrod (Mike); Uncles, James R. Carden (Marlo), LaGrange, GA, Bruce Sewell (Linda); Nephew, Nolan Kai Sewell Camp, Columbus, GA; Stepsisters, Kelsey Tomblin, Washington, DC; Meredith Tomblin, Columbus, GA; Leigh Anne Fink (Robb) Alpharetta, GA; and many cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to PAWS of Columbus or homeless shelter of choice as Jeremy didn't want anyone to be homeless.
