Jack David Shapiro
November 10, 1963 — January 1, 2016
Ret. Major Jack David Shapiro, 52 of Midland, Ga. died Friday January 1, 2016 in Midland, Georgia from injuries sustained in a single vehicle car accident.
Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Tuesday January 5, 2016 at McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. A later burial with full Military Honors will be held in Arlington National Cemetery.
Ret. Major Shapiro was born November 10, 1963 in Ft. Belvoir, Virginia son of Vonna Shapiro of Isle of Palms, SC. and the late Arnold Shapiro. He retired after 23 years service with the US Army where he received numerous medals for his bravery and dedicated service. He loved mountain biking, surfing, skateboarding with his dog Giuseppe and MotoGP.
Survivors other than his mother include his wife of 15 years, Janet "Jan" Castro Shapiro of Midland, Ga., sister, Suzan LoCascio (Keith) of Charleston, SC., niece, Sophia LoCascio and nephews, Alexander and Noah LoCascio all of Charleston, SC.
