Ernest Ray Jones, 57, of Columbus, GA died Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Piedmont Columbus Regional.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907 with Pastor Judy Hay officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Jones was born May 4, 1962 in Ft. Huachuca, AZ son of Alton Stewart Jones and Sylvia Margaret Faux Jones of Upatoi, GA. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in Desert Storm and later worked as a Machinist for Panasonic.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy Wayne Jones.
Survivors other than his parents include his wife, Laurie Safar Jones of Columbus, GA, son, Kenneth Hunter Jones of Columbus, GA, siblings, Ronald Jones (Deborah) of Columbus, GA and Angie Holley (Danny) of West Point, GA, sisters-in-law, Marcia Watson of The Woodlands, TX, Mary Lou Bailey Funk of Acworth, GA and Carol Campbell of Townsend, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to PAWS Humane 4900 Milgen Rd. Columbus, GA 31909.
