Eleanor “Ellie” Louise Dietz was born to Patrick and Katherine Dietz on March 3rd, 2021, in Columbus, Georgia. She was 1 ½ years old and died at her grandmother’s home in Columbus, GA on October 10th, 2022.
Ellie’s favorite pastime was cuddling her stuffed animals, chasing bubbles, and spending time with her “Oma” Ursula Dietz. She loved to spend time outside following her older sister Natalie and doing all the things “Sissy” did. Ellie explored the world around her with a curious fervor, always sticking her hand in the toilet or examining things on the floor. She loved the songs “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes” and “The Itsy-Bitsy Spider.”
Ellie’s favorite people were her “Daddy” Patrick, “Mommy” Katherine, and the teachers at Child Care Network and the TSYS Learning Center. She always had a mischievous smile on her face and happily waved at anyone. She enjoyed blowing kisses to her adoring fans.
Ellie’s favorite food was steak (or any type of meat) and could eat half of a filet on her own. She would determine when the meal was over, regardless of whether other people were finished eating. Although she often enjoyed playing with her food more than eating it, more food ended up in her than on her.
Ellie’s favorite books were “But Not the Armadillo” and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do you See?” and wouldn’t settle down for bedtime unless each book was read at least two times.
Eleanor is survived by her parents Katherine and Patrick, her sister Natalie, and her grandparents Diana and Sanford. She is also survived by her uncles Bernhard, Michael, Markus, her aunt Erin, and her cousin Oliver.
Eleanor will be cremated, in accordance with her parents’ wishes. A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Friday, October 21st, 2022, at Cascade Hills Church in Columbus, GA. She will also have a memorial marker placed in Parkhill Cemetery, beside her deceased grandmother Ursula Dietz.
