Dorothy Alexander Crew, 92, of Fortson, GA died Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her residence.
Funeral Services will be held 3:00 PM, Saturday October 19, 2013 at Wynnton United Methodist Church, 2412 Wynnton Road Columbus, GA 31906 with Dr. Frank Parr and Rev. J Grantham officiating. The family will receive friends before and after the service at the Church. A private interment was held in Parkhill Cemetery according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Crew was born July 21, 1921, daughter of the late Walter Quinton Alexander and Sarah Claiborne Alexander. She was a member of Wynnton United Methodist church for over 50 years and a member of Cofer Friendship Sunday School Class. Mrs. Crew was a nurse and office manager for Dr. C. Denton Johnson.
Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Blanton Crew, Sr, sister; Bernice Lambert, and brothers; Comer Alexander and Malcom Alexander.
Survivors include sons; Tom B. Crew, Jr. and Ken A. Crew (Glenda) both of Fortson, GA, grandchildren; Shannon Crew Gause (Kenneth) of Charlottesville, VA, Wendy Crew Rice (Alan) of Statesboro, GA, Lesley Crew Hall, of Chattanooga, TN, Michelle de Brabant Lee (Scott) Johns Creek, GA, Mike de Brabant, Atlanta, GA. Great-grandchildren; Berkley Gause, Katelyn Gause, Theresa Wombles (Chad), Shelby Rice, Madison Rice, Sarah Kathryn Crowder, Ava Hall and Jacob Lee; great-great grandchildren; Chad,Jr. and Waylan Wombles.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Wynnton United Methodist Church, 2412 Wynnton Road Columbus, GA 31906 or Columbus Hospice House, 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.
