Doris Marie Brubaker, 88, of Columbus, GA passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, June 14, 2015.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at McMullen Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Brad Hicks officiating. A private interment will be held at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, AL. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Mrs. Brubaker was born May 11, 1927 in Damesferry, GA daughter of the late William Clovis and Lois Marie Anthony Hawkins. She was a homemaker and caregiver to many and was blessed with many creative talents. She loved her friends and neighbors and was well known for her involvement with Northern Little League. She was also a member of Mathews Chapel in Woodland, GA.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Brubaker.
She is survived by her children, Linda Oswalt, Karen Kushmar, Sandy and Peter Lampert, Steve and Ana Brubaker, Mike and Leianne Brubaker and Lisa and Sonny Chandler, grandchildren, Chris Purvis, Kim and Tony Barbato, Brad Purvis, Jarred and Shana Bundy, Sommer Bundy, Alex and Christy Kushmar, Ethan and Molly Brubaker, Abigail and Carson Tate, Cameron Chandler, Spencer Chandler and Presten Chandler, great grandchildren, Carly Purvis, Sarah Barbato, Christopher Barbato, Kherington Kushmar, Kinzley Kushmar, Kollyns Kushmar and Ava Bundy.
The family would like to thank her caregivers: WillieNell Alexander, Bettie Aberham, Lydia Parkman, and Leona Brunson, as well as the staff at Columbus Hospice.
