David Arlin Tomlinson

David Arlin Tomlinson, 69, of Columbus, died Monday, March 29, 2021, at Columbus Specialty Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, April 1, 2021, in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory with Minister Eric Hood officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM before the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907. In keeping with the efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19, facemasks and social distancing will be required during the services.

David was born June 22, 1951 in Columbus, GA, to the late Arlin Matthew and Sarah Ruth Tomlinson. He worked at Tom’s Foods for 28 years and later retired from Kellogg’s. He was a loving husband, father and Bebo, loved spending time with his family, and was the “Life of the Party.” Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Stanley Tomlinson; sister-in-law, Frances Tomlinson; and mother-in-law, Martha Ann Streetman.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Cheryl; daughters Sarah Goodpaster (Ryan) and Cayla Carnes (Justin); son Chris Wilkey (Teresa); grandchildren Brooks and Hayes Goodpaster, Lily Ann Carnes, Owen and Ryalee Wilkey; siblings Phil Tomlinson (Anita), Tim Tomlinson and Ann Tomlinson Corbin (Don); numerous nieces, nephews, special family members and friends, and last but certainly not least, his beloved chihuahua, Hank.
