Chase Madison Connors, 37, went to be with Jesus on March7, 2022. As a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and coach, Chase had a huge effect on everyone he came into contact with. His selfless acts of caring and kindness will be deeply missed. His memorial service will be held here in Columbus at Cascade Hills Church on Saturday, March 19th, at 12:00pm.
Chase was born on July, the 31st, here in Columbus, to Dwayne and Toni (Fodor) Connors. Chase attended public schools in Harris County. During high school, Chase took taekwondo classes under Young Won, and earned his black belt. He participated with the demonstration and tricking team. After graduating from Harris County high school in 2002, he pursued a degree in Exercise Science at Columbus State University. Chase took an elective gymnastics class that was offered by Coach Doug James, at Gymnastics Unlimited, and was quickly hooked on the sport. Through this experience he realized another part of his lifelong passion. Eventually Coach James hired Chase as a part-time coach. While coaching there at Gymnastics Unlimited, Chase led in the development of a boy’s gymnastics team and coached them through numerous competitions around the state of Georgia and parts of the southeast. Years later, while coaching at Rockdale Gymnastics in Conyers, Chase discovered the world of Parkour. He soon opened his own gym, Level Up Parkour, that is currently located off of Milgen Rd. here in Columbus. Several of his students are known all over the southeast and even in other parts of the U.S. for their highly competitive parkour skills. Chase was a Christian. His walk with Christ was easily evident in the way he interacted with anyone and everyone he came into contact with. The Christian family community that he developed at Level Up became a magnet for local as well as distant parkour enthusiasts.
Chase is survived by his mother Toni (Fodor) Connors, his father Dwayne Connors, his sister Laura (Connors) Coray, niece Elyza Coray and nephew Solomon Coray. He is also survived by his extended families the Connors who reside in Sebec, Maine, and Fodors who reside in Columbus, Phenix City, Ft. Mitchell, Ala., and in Dallas, Tx..
Giving to others was the driving force behind Chase’s life. In his death, Chase gave of himself through organ donation and saved the lives of 4 people. Dwayne and Toni are looking forward to meeting the recipients.
