Bobby Wright Goodson, 82, of Columbus, GA died Saturday, June 4, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Parkhill Cemetery with David Chapman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at McMullen Funeral home and Crematory, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
Bobby was born April 10, 1940 in Pike County, AL to the late Marvin W. Goodson and Lois Brennen Goodson. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Rollin, Eleanor Langford, and brother Jack Goodson.
Bobby retired from York International Service Company as an area supervisor in 2000. He was a member of the Plumbers and Pipefitter’s Local Union 91 out of Birmingham, AL. He was a member of Mount Herman Lodge Number 304 as a 32nd degree Mason. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Birmingham, AL.
Some of Bobby’s greatest joys in life was watching his three daughters grow up to become intelligent and caring young ladies, and then watching his three granddaughters follow in their mother’s footsteps. His latest enjoyment and love of life was being around his five great grandchildren.
Alabama Football was his next great passion. If Saturday rolled around and Alabama was playing, you could find him glued to the TV in his recliner. ROLL TIDE ROLL!
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Christmas Goodson of Columbus, GA; daughters, Connie Rush (Jim) of Buena Vista, GA, Stephanie Fields of Prattville, AL, Charlotte Everett (Randy) of Ellaville, GA; grandchildren, Ashley Chapman (BJ) of Cataula, GA, Megan Rockenhaus (Justin) of Ellaville, GA, Molly Foy (Andrew) of Buena Vista, GA, Casey Everett (Lauren) of Athens, GA, Ben Everett of Athens, GA; great grandchildren, Millie Chapman, Henry Wright Chapman, Cooper Foy, Rhett Rockenhaus, and Nicholas Rockenhaus. Brother in law, Buddy Christmas of Leesburg, GA, sister in law, Elizabeth Nutting (Chuck) of Morganton, GA. Special friends Ernie & Debbie Pugh.
